What started it all....

I want to be a writer. I read almost everything and then enjoy writing about what I have read. Sometimes I write about family events, thoughts that I think, or book ideas that I would like to finish. My Mom and Pop told me when I get older, I can try an internship to learn more about writing. One day, maybe I will even make my own book.

My Pop was so excited when I told him I wanted to write, that he suggested I start a blog. Here I can write about anything and other people can see my thoughts. Maybe this will help me become a better writer.

The Borrowers

The Borrowers are like leprehaun, they're small and they're wild. There's a whole series based on the Borrowers. Tales of how they were thrown out into the wild, how they floated down the river in a teakettle; all kinds of things. Pod is the leader of the family. His wife's name is Homily, and his daughter's is Arrietty. Spiller is a kid who lives all by himself at different places, wherever he goes. He sets up a camp for the next time he comes around. He doesn't have a specific home, and it seems to me that the Borrowers don't have one either. They will settle down somewhere, and then something makes them move out. They get used to being outdoors, but I think is Arrietty who actually gets to liking it. She's like me. She likes the outdoors. I like her. I like Spiller. I like Pod. I even like Homily (who complains a lot)! I liked reading these books.

The Journal of Jake Carpenter

January, February, March, April, May; as the months reel on in this book, a young boy has adventures he'll never forget. Jake Carpenter has lived in North Carolina for as long as he can remember, but now he's about to set foot on a cargo ship. Jake learns all about the life of a sailor, and is changed from "land-lover," to "seaman". Kids have enjoyed this book for years, reading it over and over, well now it's my turn. I just finished the book, and I think that it was a cool read.
