What started it all....

I want to be a writer. I read almost everything and then enjoy writing about what I have read. Sometimes I write about family events, thoughts that I think, or book ideas that I would like to finish. My Mom and Pop told me when I get older, I can try an internship to learn more about writing. One day, maybe I will even make my own book.

My Pop was so excited when I told him I wanted to write, that he suggested I start a blog. Here I can write about anything and other people can see my thoughts. Maybe this will help me become a better writer.

The Wide Awake Princess

This is the story of Sleeping Beauty's less prissy, younger sister, Annie. Annie is the daring opposite of her older sister. While Gwendolyn, sleeping beauty, dreams of true love, Annie dreams of adventure and a life with friends. She never thinks about boys, until her sister falls asleep. An ordinary girl unaffected by the magic, Annie leaves to find her sister's true love. Along the way, Annie finds out that she might not be the only one in need of true love. Liam, a palace guard (and prince in disguise), accompanies Annie on her adventures and the two discover they each truly have a place in their hearts for the other. The Wide Awake Princess is definitely an awesome read for kids (most probably girls) ten and up.

Dragon Kiss

What looks like the end of a great series is really a new beginning for the characters. After the frog princess turns human, enjoys her own adventures, and marries, it's her daughter's turn to have some adventure. Millie has just met an ice dragon and an ogre, all to control her ability of turning into a dragon. After this thrilling adventure, Millie has returned home. Auden, the ice dragon whom she met, is in love with Millie and will do anything to get her. Dragon Kiss is Auden's adventure, and it's going to wrap up The Tales of the Frog Princess. I enjoyed this book a lot, and cannot wait to see if another comes up, though I seriously doubt it. Till tomorrow!

National Geographic Kids: 2012 Almanac

The 2012 Almanac from National Geographic Kids is awesome. I learned a lot in this book, and was amazed at some of the photos. There are over 500 awesome pictures in there. I learned a little more about Europe and certain animals. Also, this book has a chapter on our world, 2012. I learned a little more about the new things on attraction, new buildings, and basically, what's new in 2012. I was interested when I read about "Mr. Blobby," a fish that was recently found, and is currently living in an aquarium. He's not exactly a pretty fish, but it is fascinating how he looks like a face. The whole fish looks like a bald, chubby, slimy head. There are other parts in this book I enjoyed and I recommend this book to kids who love to learn.

In the Bookcase

Looks like I've joined a fun group! I will definitely enjoy reading and publishing posts. A viewer of my blog named Tarissa is the one I have to thank for telling me about the group. I look forward to posting for more readers, and reading other's posts. Until next time...

Pirate Puzzles

Last one for the day... Aaarrrggg!

Cozmo's Day Off

Another great video from Ayars Animation showing off Cozmo!

Jack and the Beanstalk

Here is a neat video showing all the things you can do with Jack....

Ayars Animation

Ayars Animation is the company my father works for. They design ipad apps and my dad illustrates them. All of the apps are made for younger kids, but are still really fun to tinker with. The very first app they came out with was Jack and the Beanstalk, which was a children's storybook app. It had a few games, but everything really focused on the story. The second app was Cozmo's Day Out. Cozmo is a game-filled book based on a character that my dad came up with. The last app they came out with, last fall, was Pirate Puzzles, a fun app full of jigsaw puzzles for the little ones. There are two locations in which you do puzzles. Every ten puzzles, you unlock a pirate song. They are currently working on a Snow White app. I enjoyed testing all these apps out, when they were still developing, with all of my siblings. I can't wait to see what they come out with next. Till tomorrow...

The Salamander Spell

The Salamander Spell is a great fiction book. It is a prequel to the book series Tales of the Frog Princess. I enjoyed this book a lot and recommend it to readers who love anything that has to do with mermaids, princesses, princes, spells, wizards, magic, and anything fantasy. Princess Grassina is the aunt of Princess Emma, the frog princess. In this book, Grassina is a teen and enjoys her own fantasy story. Grassina's mother is the Green Witch, the protecter of Greater Greensward. Grassina ends up becoming the Green Witch by the end of this book, instead of her older sister (who is supposed to have magic powers, as is tradition). I enjoyed this book a lot. Till next time...

Kit's Friendship Fun

Kit's Friendship Fun is really cool! My favorite American Girl has her own book full of crafts, recipes, and games! One of my favorite crafts is a clutch purse! If I make it to look like Kit Kittredge's, then I can wear my outfit with the clutch! I'd look just like Kit! I also think that the vanilla milkshake and banana fritters looked delicious! I really would like to buy this book so I can use it. All American Girl fans, check this book out at the library, or buy it! If you've got the time; do the crafts, try the recipes, and have fun. I sure will! Till next time...

A Long Break

Who ever said that homeschooling meant you had a lot of time, didn't have my mom as a teacher! She has everyday planned and organized. While that can be a lot of fun, it can be very full too. So, after a long break from blogging, I am back! Hopefully I will be better at getting to the computer during my typing time. I sometimes read the same books and then there is nothing to blog about, but my mom is helping me explore some new books. This should give me plenty to write about. We'll see....

The Westing Game

The Westing Game is an awesome book about kids and grownups solving the murder mystery of their Uncle Samuel Westing. People are paired and each group is given an envelope with clues. Bombs are laid, people are hurt, and everyone is wondering: who is the mysterious murderer, bomber, and thief? This book is really well written. It was a wonderful book. I know that it is a book I'm going to want to read again and again! The characters are really well built, and I learned a lot about building a mystery here. I'm definitely going to use it as reference for a script I'm writing. I'll give everyone a sneak peek; I'm writing a radio show script for Samuel Woodcock: Private Detective. And my inspiration comes from this book and so many others. I can't wait to read this book again. Till tomorrow....
